Top 5 Reasons to Visit During Summer in Costa Rica

28th Nov 2014

Costa Rica is a favorite vacation spot for many, and a great place for a family vacation during our summer season. The summer high season on the Pacific Coast, where Café Milagro is located, runs from November-April. It brings with it plenty of sunshine, making the season an ideal time for exploring rainforests and relaxing on the beaches. Here are the top five reasons to visit Costa Rica during the summer.

Adventure

If you are thrill-seeker and a person who craves adventure, then Costa Rica is definitely the place to be during the summer. Enjoy an original canopy tour that allows you to travel via the jungle like a monkey or a bird. Experience ziplining tours, kayaking, whitewater rafting on world class rapids, parasailing and cliff diving. Adventure sports are commonplace here in Manuel Antonio.

Beaches

Enjoy the experience of sand between your toes and the warm sun on your face. Costa Rica is home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, with almost 1,500 miles of coastline. The beaches are perfect for a family vacation or for taking a romantic stroll at sunset. All beaches are public in Costa Rica.

Surfing

Costa Rica is one of the global surfing destinations and has good waves year round, especially at some of our beaches on the Central Coastline. The water temperature remains warm during the summer months, on average it’s about 84 degrees, similar to our average air temperature.

Rainforest

A good percentage of the country is made up of protected rainforest and national parks, which holds about 5% of the global biodiversity. Besides taking zip-lining and canopy tours, you can take a walk on the wildside, literally walking on hanging bridges through the rainforest treetops with the help of an expert naturalist/guide. You can also visit parks like our very own Manuel Antonio National Park, which has easy trails to walk on, calm water beaches and you may even see the elusive sloth.
